Dr. Rupp trained at Indiana University Emergency Medicine and completed Emergency Ultrasound and Global Health Fellowships at Vanderbilt. He stayed on as faculty working clinically at the Nashville VA and at VUMC, and he is the Program Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship.

Dr. Lipton is a California native who completed his undergraduate studies at University of California, San Diego where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry/Cell Biology. He then moved to Chicago where he earned his medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. During his 4th year in medical school, he was nominated into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society for his leadership abilities and his educational achievement. After graduating medical school, he moved to Nashville to complete his residency in Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University. Following his residency, he moved to Salt Lake City, UT to complete a fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound at the University of Utah. Before coming back to Vanderbilt, he was the Emergency Department Ultrasound Director for a busy community ER in Charlotte, NC. His current interests include critical care ultrasound, medical student/resident/fellow education, and quality assurance for point-of-care ultrasounds performed in the ED. In 2023, he obtained testamur status of the Examination of Special Competence in Critical Care Echocardiography (CCEeXAM) from the National Board of Echocardiography, which highlights his commitment to advanced education in critical care ultrasound. When not working in the ED, he enjoys snowboarding, golfing, and spending time with his son, daughter, and wife, Leah.
Dr. Palisch is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt University where he works in both community and academic settings. His work focuses on faculty procedural education as well as Street Medicine and Health Policy. While completing residency at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA, he received extensive procedural education in ultrasound guided regional anesthesia to provide non-opioid pain relief for ER patients. He has provided faculty education on the topic and teaches the techniques to residents and attendings on shift. Prior education includes a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Centre College, a masters in Health Policy at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, and an MD at Stanford University.

Blake Briggs is an assistant professor of emergency medicine. He has always been passionate about finding effective ways to teach. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He is the founder, podcast co-host, and Editor-in-Chief of EM Board Bombs, a multiplatform education tool designed to not only provide board prep but focus on “what you need to know” for the practice of EM. He continues to leverage skills in the digital realm of education, using multimedia resources and technical expertise to optimize people’s time when it comes to learning and providing the best care to patients. He also has an interest in ED protocols and pathways, serving as the Assistant Medical Director at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha.
Randal Dabbs, MD, FACEP, FAAFP

Dr. Randal Dabbs is a co-founder of TeamHealth and served as president and chief medical officer of the largest affiliate of TeamHealth for more than 15 years. He is currently serving as EM director for Knox County and is president of practice development for TeamHealth. He has created and deployed many national programs that enhance the practice of medicine at TeamHealth facilities across all services lines throughout the country, including: clinician engagement and retention, merger and acquisition relationships, risk and claims management, leadership and education training, emergency medicine special operations program, and Advanced Practice Clinician Council. Dr. Dabbs received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences. He completed his residency training in family medicine at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, where he later held the position of chief of emergency services from 1982 – 1999. He is both ABEM and ABFM certified. Dr. Dabbs is TeamHealth liaison to the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the executive sponsor of the Advanced Practice Clinician Council as well as the Substance Use Work Group. He has been a standing member of the Claims Committee throughout its existence and regularly conducts seminars on risk management. He is passionate about and regularly lectures on risk reduction strategies for EM clinicians, clinician retention, leadership development, and improving both the provider and patient experience.
